Green tea and other slimming tea has been gaining popularity for a number of years now. There are numerous health benefits aside from the weight loss properties that accompany many types of tea. Because of the success that many people have with weight loss teas overindulgence is not uncommon. And people should be aware of possible side effects from teas abuse.

One thing to consider when using tea as a dietary supplement is weather not you are using an extract pill or drinking the tea. The pills are much more concentrated and much more potent. They are also more likely to contain other additives, such a laxatives that can cause you to loose weight but not the kind of weight that is necessary for long term weight loss.

Furthermore, many tea products claim to be all natural and even organic, which is fabulous but also misleading. If you really break it down everything in the world is natural to some extent. It just matters were you draw the line and when you consider that only until very recently was there any type of regulation of the supplement market. It was up to them to draw the line.

The laxatives that are added to tea to promote weight loss are natural substances such as, senna, which is nothing more than an herb. It also happens to be a very powerful herb which is often prescribed to severely constipated patients. And, to make matters worse, laxatives are often addictive and can lead to dependance. When you consider that people will often take weight loss pills for months or years at a time this can become a huge problem.

It goes without saying that overuse of weight loss products and slimming tea products is extremely common. Abuse of nearly anything can lead to problems and dietary supplements are no exception. Dehydration due to laxatives, diuretics and over stimulation are common. Irritation from the laxatives is no less pleasant and can be equally serious.

Do not be fooled by the supposed benefits of a toxic cleanse. It sounds great and can even feel excellent but it is nothing more than expelling excess garbage from your body with the aid of laxatives. Overuse of cleansing products can lead to serious health problems and can often mask eating disorders.

Sticking with the actual brewed tea products is one way to avoid overuse. It is difficult to over consume green tea, but you should be aware of the quality of tea that you are purchasing and be on the look out for additional ingredients that you may want to stay away from.

Many people approach slimming teaor any other diet option with an attitude of apprehension and mistrust. It is difficult to believe all of the hype when nothing seems to work, but the truth is that most diets, workout plans, and other strategies will work if people will only stick to the plan. Weight loss is a journey not a destination and should be approached from a long term lifestyle standpoint.

Whatever diet fad has past or still to come there will never be a better alternative to eating a healthy balanced diet and starting a consistent exercise program. If you want more results eat healthier and continue to increase your exercise. Vary your workouts and scale up the intensity. There is always room for improvement.

It usually takes a long time to pack on the additional pounds, though it may seem like you woke up one day and received a shock when you looked in the mirror. You should not expect to be able to take the weight off any faster than put it on. Small changes over a long period of time will have more impact than large changes that only last for a short period of time.

Slimming tea and other tea supplements are a great alternative to other harder diet weight loss products but should still be used in moderation. Even exercise and diet should be practiced in moderation.
