Tattoo Removal Cost and Available Options

By

This is now not your only option

There are more options today than ever

Ohhh, what did I do??!! are common phrases when waking and discovering a new tattoo, then wondering how much tattoo removal cost and nursing a hangover usually follow. Tattoos have become common place in todays society. They no longer have the stigma of meaning that you are trash, just than you may not have ever really matured all of the way. Whatever the case many people end up wishing that they had never gotten their tattoos and seeking treatment to get them removed. At one time this was a pretty hopeless scenario, once you got the tattoo you were pretty much marked for life, not you have some options. Some of them may cost you more than that initial drunken indiscretion and others will not. Lets take a look at some alternatives and tattoo removal cost.

This is my favorite and should probably be reserved for people that get name or neck tattoos. Dermabrasion, sounds like fun already and I can assure you that it is. The best part about this is that success can be guaranteed or you can actually do it in your garage with an electric sander. If you opt to go the route of doing it in a doctors office you can expect to get some antiseptic before the surgically sand the tattoo off of you skin. You will be left with a scar to remember your tattoo and this possibly more painful procedure. One of the upsides is that that tattoo removal price for this procedure is usually in the $1000 dollar range and only requires a singe visit.

Laser removal is the newest technique of tattoo removal and is also popular for hair removal. It is really a pretty simple procedure in which a laser is aimed at the ink, breaking the ink down and allowing it to be metabolized. You can expect to make at least 5 visits to the clinic for this procedure are a price of at least $300 per trip, most likely quite a bit more. The prices for laser removal really depend on the size of the tattoo. Some people find this procedure to be uncomfortable but for those that have gone under the needle before it shouldn’t be more than you can handle. The pain to your pocket book will probably be more intense.

Intense Pulse light is anther option similar to laser removal. IPL for short uses an intense light pulse and a gel to break down the ink so that it can be filtered out by the body. This method is effective and pain free but is also very expensive costing upwards of thousands of dollars per treatment, with at least 5 treatments necessary you may want to check your bank account.

Tattoo removal creams are growing more common as people continue their quest for instant gratification. Products like rejuvi tattoo removal cream are very popular but only manage to fade tattoos. For some this may be enough, but for those looking to really get rid of a tattoo this may not be enough. You must factor in that it is essential to use this cream for a year or more and you may need to use it again in the future. Buying removal cream over a long period of time can be expensive but for a month supply you are usually paying less than $50. This method takes persistence and patience, two characteristics that many of the users do not posses.

One of the most successful methods is to get a Rejuvi tattoo removal. It is also known as the machine method and it simply involves injecting a gel that breaks the ink down into the existing tattoo. This is done in a similar method to getting the tattoo in the first place. The ink will generally form as a scab on top of the skin and flake away. With a lower price per treatment of around $100, again highly dependent on the actual size of the tattoo, this is one of the most economical options. The machine method also happens to be the fasted method of removal, only requiring 3 - 5 sessions for total removal.

Looking back over all of the options and price structures you have options that will cost you less than $1000 and some that will cost you more than a new car. The decision is yours or maybe this can make you think twice about getting that tattoo in the first place.

No one method will work best for all situations or tattoos. Different types of inks and different skin tones and pigments respond differently to treatment. I would suggest familiarizing yourself with the different methods and consulting practitioners of each. Make it a point to spend long deciding how to get rid of the tattoo than you spent thinking about getting it. Tattoo removal prices are all over the board, but the best part is that you have options.

Very interesting Hub. I often wondered how someone would get an unwanted tattoo removed.

Seems like it would be easier, less painful, and cheaper to not get one :P
